Its Not Easy Being Green Series 2

New series of It's Not Easy Being Green on BBC2

The Strawbridge Family

Good news for anyone who enjoyed the first series of It's Not Easy Being Green (1) - a new second series will start at 8.30pm on 22nd March 2007.

The First Series

During the first series we followed the lives of the Strawbridge family as they moved to a neglected farmhouse with three acres in Cornwall turning it into an eco-home. They installed an energy efficient (2) heating system (3), a wind turbine generator (4), a solar water heater (5), and even a waterwheel (6) which generates enough electricity to power CFL bulbs (7) throughout the house. Dick Strawbridge also set up a biodiesel (8) processing plant to convert waste vegetable oil (9) (WVO) into fuel for his Land Rover.

The Second Series

Over the course of eight programmes to be shown on Thursdays at 8.30pm on BBC2 the Dick Strawbridge, his son James, and friend Jim will be shown travelling around the country helping other people to go green and go organic.

In programme one Dick travels to the Wirral in Merseyside to help the Keenan family plan their £750,000 eco home to be heated by a ground source heat pump (10) with a rainwater harvesting system (11) and a wind turbine generator. Dick, James, and Jim also help a family to grow fruit and vegetables for their child who has multiple allergies.
