Efergy HomeCO2meter
New wireless electricity usage meter - homeCO2meter from Efergy
shopping | general | carbonUntil now the
Electrisave Wireless Electricity Monitor has had no real competition. That's all set to change with the new
homeCO2meter from
Efergy - an improved electricity usage monitor at a reduced price.
homeCO2meter
Working in exactly the same way as the
Electrisave, the
homeCO2meter sensor is clipped onto the 25mm feed cable where it enters the electricity meter.

The image above shows (circled) an efergy
sensor connected to the feed cable of an electricity meter. No electrician is required, the sensor is simply clipped around the cable, and then connected to the battery-powered
wireless transmitting unit.
Data collected is then sent to a portable wireless
monitor unit which can be moved from room to room. The amount of electricity being used can be updated as often as every six seconds and displayed on the large LCD screen on the monitor unit in £/hour, kWh, or Kg of
carbon dioxide.
Memory Function
The key advantage of the homeCO2meter over Electrisave*
is the addition of a
memory function (a feature to be included in the next generation Electrisave model to be sold from the end of 2007). This enables the user to see exactly how much electricity is being used per day, per week, and per month.
Memory makes it far easier to
compare electricity usage on a day by day, week by week, and month by month basis which is particularly useful if you are interested in reducing consumption. (Together with the monitor unit, sensor, and wireless transmitter comes a recycled
efergy.com ballpoint pen to help you to keep track of your electricity consumption.)
