Energenie 30 Minute Rundown Timer
A device to automatically switch off power to a socket after 30 minutes

The
Energenie 30 minute rundown timer socket is a device which automatically shuts off the power to any device/appliance plugged into it after 30 minutes. Primarily designed to be used to reduce the
fire risk associated with leaving on irons, hair straighteners, electric blankets, etc and forgetting about them, it also has many
energy saving uses.
Using the
rundown timer is very simple. Plug it into a mains power point and plug any <3kW rated device or appliance into it. When you press the small green button on the rundown timer, the connected appliance will receive power and a 30 minute countdown will begin. The red LED on the timer will flash to give visual confirmation that power is connected.
After 30 minutes (if you have not already pressed the green button again to cut the power) the power will be cut to the connected appliance
automatically. Therefore, if you were using the iron for example, and had forgotten to switch it off, it would automatically be turned off after 30 minutes.
In addition to reducing fire risk, a forgotten iron, hair straightener or electric blanket would waste a
lot of electricity. Having them automatically switch off will therefore
save electricity. If you sit down and fall asleep in front of the television every evening, then this timer will automatically turn it off after 30 minutes (so you won't be woken up with a shock when the loud adverts come on!). It is also particularly useful if in the summer months, you like to fall asleep with a fan or mobile air conditioner on, but don't want it to run on all night.
The
Energenie Rundown Timer is very well made and designed, inexpensive, and does exactly what it claims to do. (We timed the automatic shut off at 30 minutes and 10 seconds). The
packaging contains no plastic and is
100% recycleable. The instructions for use are also printed onto the packaging itself to reduce total
carbon emissions. With its ability to reduce the risk of fire, potential energy saving uses, and eco-credentials, this product is well worth the small investment.
