Delta wiring for alternator

In our article Star and Delta Wiring for Alternators we looked at how the multi-phase AC output from an alternator (for wind or hydro power for example) can be connected in Star or Delta configuration to maximise current or voltage.

Here is our online Star/Delta Calculator to help you make the necessary calculations.

Star/Delta Wiring Calculator

Simple enter the measured current in Amps, and voltage in Volts for one coil in the alternator, together with the number of coils per phase and the number of phases. Click Calculate and our calculator will automatically work out the total output voltage and current for both Star and Delta configurations for the complete alternator.

Measured values for one coil: Current Amps and Voltage Volts
Number of coils per phase: , Number of Phases:

Star Configuration

Volts Amps.

Delta Configuration

Volts Amps.
