The LM317T can be used to generate a fixed voltage supply at continuous currents of up to 1.5 Amps. If the current required is in excess of 1 Amp, consider using the LM338T Voltage Regulator instead. The LM338T will cope with continuous currents of up to 5 Amps (and even more with a suitable heat sink *

The output voltage of the LM317T is set using two resistors. If you require resistors please contact us with details of your exact requirements and we will assist you.

Heatsink

Click here to purchase a TO220 Bolt-On Heatsink suitable for use with the LM317T. This will keep the temperature of the LM317T down when used to provide currents close to the rated value or when there is a large difference between the input voltage and the chosen output voltage.
